We never contact your employer
- Applyline never contacts your current employer, and never tells anyone you are looking.
- Applications go only to employers you pick yourself, or that match a search you set up. Nothing is sent to anyone else.
- Applyline doesn’t post your résumé to job boards or share it with recruiters.
Your current employer is excluded
Auto Apply never applies to your current employer. Applyline takes it from the current job in the résumé profile a search uses, or, if you haven’t filled that in, from your résumé when it clearly shows exactly one current role.
To be certain, add your employer to your excluded companies too. Then its jobs are hidden from your matches as well, not only kept out of automatic applications.
Excluding other companies
You can exclude any company, in three places:
- Settings → Job preferences → Companies to exclude hides a company everywhere: in your matches and in every search.
- Excluded companies on a search keeps a company out of that one Auto Apply search.
- Never show this company, on a job or an application, adds that company to your excluded companies in one step.
Excluded companies are never applied to automatically. You can remove an exclusion at any time.
How company matching works
- Names match as whole words, so Northwind also excludes Northwind Analytics, but Ada doesn’t exclude Adapt.
- Case, punctuation and legal suffixes such as Inc., LLC or Ltd are ignored, so Northwind Analytics, Inc. matches Northwind Analytics.
- When in doubt the rule leans toward hiding a job. Excluding too much only hides a posting; excluding too little could reach your employer.
A company that hires under a different brand name needs that name added too.
What employers see
An employer sees only the application you send them: the résumé, cover letter and answers submitted on their own application form, just as if you had filled it in yourself. They don’t see your other applications, your searches, your excluded companies, or anything else in your Applyline workspace.
Your portfolio stays private
- Your Applyline portfolio isn’t public until you choose to publish it. Before that, there is no public page at all.
- Publishing shares only what you put on the portfolio, not your résumé file or your applications, at a hard-to-guess link that asks search engines not to index it.
- Unpublishing removes the public page straight away.
